By accessing or using shell I/O ("the Service"), operated by SHELL IO (PTY) LTD (CIPC Registration: 2026/033650/07) ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

shell I/O is an interactive online learning platform that provides DevOps training through terminal-based exercises. Our Service includes:
- Interactive terminal simulations for Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud technologies
- Structured learning paths and curriculum
- Progress tracking and achievement systems
- Weekly challenges and assessments
- Digital badges and certificates
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free and Paid Tiers
shell I/O offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts have access to introductory content, while paid subscriptions ("Pro") unlock the full curriculum and additional features.
4.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Paystack.
4.3 Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to subsequent billing cycles.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Copy, distribute, or reproduce our content without permission
- Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
- Impersonate any person or entity
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Content
All content on shell I/O, including but not limited to lessons, exercises, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by shell I/O and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without express written permission.
6.2 User Content
Any content you submit to the Service (such as feedback or comments) grants us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with the Service.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.
7.2 Educational Content

8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, shell I/O shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination
